Glenn Allen Griffin

Glenn Allen Griffin, age 76, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away Tuesday morning, April 22, 2003, at the Pinckneyville Community Hospital Emergency Room, Pinckneyville, IL.

Glenn was born in Vergennes, IL, May 31, 1926 the son of Herbert Glen and Mary E. (Moss) Griffin.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Europe during WWII.  Glenn was united in marriage to Florence Geneva Brown in Nashville, IL on November 20, 1947 and she survives.  Glenn was a member of the Denmark Baptist Church, VFW Local #7190 of Murphysboro, IL, the I.L.G.W.U and loved bird hunting, fishing, and following local sporting events.  He was also actively involved with the Swanwick Bethel Cemetery Association.  

Glenn is survived by his wife, Geneva of Pinckneyville, IL, one son, William G. Griffin and wife Barb of Pinckneyville, IL, three daughters, Judy Hawkins and husband Tom of Pinckneyville, IL, Michelle Rodely and husband Bruce of Springfield, IL, Joan Hopp of Pinckneyville, IL, one brother, Albert Eugene Griffin of Vincennes, IN, one sister, Margie Lipe of Carbondale, IL, one half-brother, Tom Wooldridge of Belleville, IL, eight grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.  Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Donnie Robb, and one brother, Jesse Griffin.

Funeral services were Thursday morning, April 24, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville, IL with Rev. Greg Whaley officiating.  Interment was in the Bethel Cemetery, Swanwick, IL.

Friends called at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville, IL, Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. and again on Thursday morning from 8:00 a.m. till services.

Memorials may be made to the Creek Paum Cemetery in Vergennes.
